Rm 21 have been learning about the properties of Forces as part of our Science Inquiry this term. Mrs Carter brought some magnets to learn how they repel and attract. She also had a little bit of black sand to experiment with…the black sand stick to the magnets because it is made up of iron particles! We recorded our learning with a buddy on our iPads.
Rm 21 have been learning about Forces as part of our Inquiry topic this term. Miss Ika blew up a rubber glove and rubbed it on some children’s hair. This made it look like it was “flying” and it was standing up on end! This created a Friction. We also made static electricity from this Science experiment. Can you spot your friends in these photos?
Team 2 took a trip to Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga where they played at the Marble Run, playground and did sports games on the field. Rm 21 learnt about forces and gravity with the marble run and how different sized marbles went slow and fast. Please leave a positive comment on our blog.
On Wednesday 13th November, the Junior school went on the bus to Sylvia Park to watch the Manaiakalani Film Festival!
It was so much fun watching everyone’s class movies on the big screen…which movie did you like the best?
Thank you to Rm 21’s presenters Raven and Timothy who did a great job of introducing our movie on the stage.

Has someone ever given you the side eye? What did you do when this happened? Rm 21 learnt to just “Shake it off!”
We hope you enjoy our movie. Please leave a positive comment on our class blog.
On Friday 8th November, it was our whole school Athletics Day. There were so many sports activities organised by Miss Va’afusuaga. Mrs Carter was running “Rob the Nest” under Te Kapua. You had to collect one toy from the middle hoop and take it back to your own hoop and then when she said “Rob the Nest” you had to steal other teams toys. There was also an obstacle course, hurdles, sprint races, high jump, gumboot throw and egg and spoon race. After lunch we went to the school field to watch the relay races between the senior students, parents and teachers. The children in Team 2 had so much fun!

Our Inquiry topic for this term is Science – Forces. Team 2 teachers made a movie about using marbles on the marble run at Lloyd Elsmore Park and how you need a force to make the marbles move…
One of Mrs Carter’s reading group read the book; A Batch of Pancakes. The tamariki asked if they could make pancakes and Mrs Carter brought the ingredients in to school. We needed an egg, milk, and sifted in the flour into the bowl. Then Mrs Carter cooked them in the electric frying pan and we got to eat one each and spread some honey on the top. It was so yummy and tasty!

On Friday 13th September we were allowed to change our hairstyle by wearing a wig or adding colour and cool designs.
We had a parade at Assembly and we bought a gold coin to fundraise for the Cancer Foundation!
Thank you to all the parents and tamariki who made a great effort. Kapai mahi whanau!
